Tornado Outbreaks Savage Gulf Coast
Over the weekend of April 23 to April 25, Mississippi and Alabama were terrorized by tornadoes. Over 100 homes are demolished and 10 people are dead as a result of the storms in Yazoo County and Choctaw County in Mississippi. 2 more died in Etowah County and Walker County in Alabama as a result of the storms. It will take some serious quick cash to repair the damage, as this is the worst storm to hit there since Katrina.
Tornado strikes worse on the Gulf Coast
The Gulf Coast is uniquely vulnerable to outbreaks of a tornado. Anywhere contrasting weather patterns collide, or low pressure systems can form, severe weather can be the result. While the Midwest is known as Tornado Alley, the Southeast has tornadoes that last longer, are more violent and cause more damage. Populations tend to settle around coastlines, and that's where the most extreme weather happens.

Governor of Mississippi Haley Barbour was in Yazoo City, a city of 28,000, according to CNN . That's Barbour's home town. He will request federal assistance. The tornado released by the weather system in Mississippi touched down and tore across over 150 miles. The Red Cross and other organizations are already on hand delivering aid, but it will take some hefty installment loans to patch this kind of damage up. The weather system also touched other tornadoes down in Alabama.
41 tornadoes in total and one EF4
At least one of the tornadoes in Mississippi was classified an EF4. Tornadoes were rated on the Fujita Scale, revised to the Enhanced Fujita Scale. The worst are EF5. One of the 41 total tornadoes was an EF4, and nine in total were an EF2 or above. Planet Earth is home to some nasty weather, and it can be nearly impossible to see it coming. Let us hope affected citizens can get the help they need.
